Okay, I'm not going to be here for long (I think, but she keeps telling me it's permanent and then it's temporary, then permanent again. I was like, "MAKE UP YOUR MIND, WOMAN!"), but I was bored so decided to make myself known. I'm Sarita (yep, another one XP), I'm 13, and I'm another music slave. I play alto sax and piano. I can't sing worth crap, which is why I'm an extra in this coming fall play. I'm much better at straight plays, but musicals are my dead end. And at the audition I screwed up and cut myself off over and over, like I got two words in and then I was like, "Oh, crap, I'm sharp," and then three words later, "Crap--I'm flat," then someone came in and I got lost, so I was like, "Crap, can I just start over??"
So I'm nothing like the original. Except for the name/birthday/gifted thing. I'm more into instrumental than vocal, although she's amazing at both, but whatever. I like to paint sometimes. Until this year I've always played in the pit band, but for the past two straight plays I've been onstage. I get stagefright. So I was kind of sort of really really nervous. But after a while I got over it.
I'm really clumsy, so I can't dance, so I'm having a really hard time with the "Swordfight Ballet" segment in the play, I would so have Sare help me but she's kind of in DELAWARE, so that's not exactly an option. She did choreograph it, though, which is why it's so darn complicated. I can do a box step sometimes, if I count out loud and watch my feet.
Other than that, I'm sort of normal. I'm in the junior band and jazz band. Which sometimes gets to be a pain, because our band director gets really cheesy ideas, like making the Jazz Band wear Blues Brothers sunglasses and fedoras for the spring concert. And then of course my relatives had to take pictures and film the ENTIRE ordeal, which ended with me tripping while I was going down the stage right steps.
You know what? Scratch all that.
I like shopping and skiing and art. I like music, anything but pop. Other than concerto piano and sax, my only talent would be, like, cooking or other droll things done in Domestic Arts. Why is it called Domestic Arts, anyway?? It's not artistic, unless you make those pancakes with the smiley faces. Or pizza with the smiley faces. But whatever. I'm 13, living in Dimock, PA (right by Montrose) and I go to the best school in NEPA. Well, probably not, but it's a nice school, very lax when it comes to rules, but I'm like Princess Goody Two-Shoes, so that's not a problem for me, anyway. I have too much time on my hands. Which is why I'm here. The only time I'm really busy is at the end of summer break, because that's when Cross Country starts. I don't know what else to say, really.
